Weekly Market Update November 22-28

Faris Team CEO and Broker, Mark Faris, says there’s been a consistent decrease in sales and new listings across the boards this week, as a result of the seasonal slowdown. Months of inventory stayed somewhat flat in most areas, demonstrating that new listings are being balanced by sales. Barrie and area saw an increase in listings and fewer homes sold, which will make active buyers happy. Specifically, Adjala-Tosorontio saw a slow down in sales as homes with large properties come with higher price tags that generally take longer to sell.

Barrie & Area

Compared to the week of November 15-21:

  • Average selling price is $648K, down 2%  

  • 17% more new listings than last week

  • 18% fewer homes sold

  • List-to-sale ratio is up to 102.9%


Midland & Surrounding Area

Compared to the week of November 15-21:

  • Average selling price is $675K, up 10%  

  • 30% fewer new listings than last week

  • 16% fewer homes sold

  • List-to-sale ratio is up to 102.3 %


Orillia & Surrounding Area

Compared to the week of November 15-21:

  • Average selling price is $595K, down 10%  

  • 4% fewer new listings

  • 3% more homes sold

  • List-to-sale ratio is steady at 99.5%
