Weekly Market Update May 9-16

Faris Team CEO and Broker, Mark Faris, says that as we round the corner towards summer, a healthy supply of new listings continues to trend. Homes are still selling quickly, two weeks on average across the region, however months of inventory climbed for the first time since the end of March. Months of inventory indicates how long it would take to sell all homes if nothing came new on the market, and while it’s still hovering around just one month, it’s giving buyers a touch more breathing room than earlier this spring.

Barrie & Area

Compared to the week of May 2-8:

  • Average selling price:⬇︎1%

  • New listings:⬆︎4%

  • Homes sold:⬆︎ 1%

  • List-to-sale ratio: 108.9%


Midland & Surrounding Area

Compared to the week of May 2-8:

  • Average selling price:⬇︎17% 

  • New listings:⬆︎43%

  • Homes sold:⬆︎16%

  • List-to-sale ratio: 108.1%


Orillia & Surrounding Area

Compared to the week of May 2-8:

  • Average selling:⬇︎0.01%

  • New listings:⬆︎15% 

  • Homes sold: no change

  • List-to-sale ratio: 107.4%


Collingwood & Surrounding Area

Compared to the week of May 2-8:

  • Average selling:⬆︎10%

  • New listings:⬇︎12% 

  • Homes sold:⬇︎18%

  • List-to-sale ratio: 104.2%
